You – covered in running clothes. Even better, come in creative get-up – costumes are highly encouraged. If you're running the night race, you'll need to bring a headlamp to navigate the course. You'll also need a photo ID for packet pick-up, a change of clothes for after the race (optional), and your completed participant waiver. Most important – bring your alpha attitude. You'll need it.
No outside alcohol, no weapons or firearms, no glass containers. No wimpy attitudes. No cheating schemes – those caught trying to bootleg a race will be sorry. Very sorry.
Start times will be staggered for the day races. When registering, you will choose which wave you want to race in. You are responsible for knowing your start time and checking in, and must report to the starting location 15 minutes prior to your start time. Competitive racers are encouraged to sign up for the earliest waves to ensure a less populated course.
Your timing chip is embedded in your bib, you don't need to worry about it.
Absolutely. We'll have an on-site drop for race-destroyed shoes and will donate them through greenshoes.com.

Giving Back
Being Alpha includes far more than just our best physical selves; it’s also making sure we’re putting our best foot forward in the communities we partner with. In order to succeed both on and off the course we are committed to helping support great causes both in your community and worldwide.
As an alphARace participant, you’re supporting these vital programs and services:
- The Midland Community Center: Serving families in Midland, MI for 94 years. Proceeds from AlphARace go to the MCC to support funding for essential services like childcare, health and wellness opportunities, and need-based scholarships because everyone should have access to a healthy lifestyle.
- Railway Family Center: Providing essential services for youth and families in Midland county’s rural community of Coleman. As AlphARace’s adopted organization this year, RFC will be able to offer childcare scholarships to those in our community who need it the most and continue to operate its clothing and food pantry which assists families with over 1,000 requests per year.
- GreenSneakers: Offering an eco-friendly way to enhance economic development and sustainability in the world’s undeveloped nations and also right here at home. By shedding your muddy AlphARace shoes at the finish line, Green Sneakers will put shoes on the feet of those in need all over the globe.
- Course Restoration: Leaving something better than the way we found it is the only way to be Alpha. We are committed to treading lightly across the lush trails and terrain where we run our courses, and will work tirelessly to make sure they are in pristine condition upon our departure. That’s our promise to you, the community and the environment.
